Administered by the Dental Assisting National Board

This exam allows you to legally take x-rays in your office. You can become a dental assistant without having to get a radiography license, but you will need to complete the appropriate training and take and pass the exam.

Additional Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age, AND

Hold current CPR certification, AND

Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent, AND

Successfully complete an examination in dental radiologic technique and safety approved by the Board (Note: DANB’s Radiation Health and Safety exam meets this requirement)

Successfully complete, with a passing grade of 90 percent, the MBDP’s jurisprudence exam, AND
-
Apply and pay applicable fee to the MBDP.
