Parents need hours that don’t change. Most clinics begin seeing patients around 8:30 a.m. and most dental assistants will clock in around 8:00 a.m. to set up the clinic for the day. Last patients are often scheduled at 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. so the clinic can close at 5:00 p.m. Most dental clinics are open five days a week, and depending on the field of dentistry, you may be assigned to be on-call over the weekend a few times a year. With static hours, you’ll find it’s easier to get your children to and from school and activities. As a dental assistant, you can depend on having flexible mornings, evenings, and weekends!
